The right-back was handed his debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the clash against Astana in the defeat in Kazakhstan and make his first senior appearance at Old Trafford against AZ Alkmaar.
Laird was joined by fellow under-23 players Brandon Williams, Angel Gomes, James Garner and Mason Greenwood as the players trained in front of the media on Wednesday morning.
One player who looks unlikely to be involved is Jesse Lingard. The England international impressed in the win against Manchester City but was not spotted amongst the group in training on Wednesday.
The club confirmed he was missing after picking up a knock in the win at the Etihad on Saturday evening.
Nemanja Matic and Diogo Dalot, who have been out injured, were both part of the group but United are still without Paul Pogba who is hopefully due to make a return in the new year.
Solskjaer confirmed Matic could play a part in Thursday night's game but the fixture has arrived too soon for Dalot who only returned to training earlier this week.
Providing United avoid defeat in the clash against the Dutch side they will finish top of Group L and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about the importance of topping the group in his pre-match press conference.

"Of course I'm bothered (if they win the group). Every time you play you have a chance to prove to yourself and your teammates and me that you deserve to be part of this team for a long time," Solskjaer said.
