Arsenal target Pablo Mari has arrived at Heathrow Airport ahead of completing a move to the Emirates this month and is exicited to be joining the north London club. Reports emerged on Friday that Mari had agreed a switch to Arsenal from Brazilian side Flamengo. And now the centre-back has arrived in London ahead of his medical, which is set to take place this weekend.
Mari arrived at Heathrow with Arsenal technical director Edu, who flew with him from Rio de Janeiro.
When asked if he was excited to be joining Arsenal, Mari told Goal: "Yeah of course".
Reports claim the Spanish defender is set to join the Gunners on an initial loan move, with a view to making the deal permanent in the summer.
Mari only joined Flamengo last summer after spending three years on the books at Manchester City.
The 26-year-old never made an appearance for City and spent three seasons out on loan at Girona, NAC Breda and Deportivo La Coruna.
However, he clearly made an impression on Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City before becoming Gunners boss in December.
