Barcelona have been rocked with latest injury to their forward Luis Suarez.
The forward is expected to be out for four months after he suffered a kneel injury in the loss to Atletico Madrid during the semi final Spanish Super Cup.
The La Liga giants confirmed that The Uruguayan is expected to be back in April after he had undergone a successful surgery today .
OFFICIAL STATEMENT READS:
The Uruguayan striker was operated on this Sunday by Dr. Ramon Cugat for an injury to the external meniscus of his right knee.
Suarez used keyhole surgery to resolve an injury to the external meniscus of the right knee by performing a suture. The Uruguayan striker will be out for approximately four months.
Suarez has participated in a total of 23 games this season, in which he has scored 14 goals: 11 in the league and three in the Champions League. In addition, he has the most assists in the Spanish league in 2019/20 with a total of seven.
With this latest reports, Barca will need to sought out a way out ahead of the second half of the season.
Barcelona are currently second behind league leaders Real Madrid.
Barca yet to be active in the January tranfer window, but with this, the Spanish club might have to.
Recall that last season, Barca acquired the services of Kevin Prince Boateng on loan as a cover following Dembele injury.
Players Who Could Replace Luis Suarez:
Neymar is the number one target and, despite missing out last summer, Barca are determined to strike a deal with Paris Saint-Germain that will allow the Brazilian to return to Camp Nou.
