Liverpool have broken silence ahead of the CAF awards 2019.
The biggest football award in Africa is set to go down tonight in Egypt according to reports gathered.
One major headline at the event it the best player award for the men's category.
Liverpool duo, Saido Mane and Mohamed Salah are expected to battle for the gong with club rival Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City.
Recall that both Mane and Salah were instrumental to Liverpool last campaign as the Reds lifted the UEFA Champions League, came short behind league winners Manchester City. But this campaign, Liverpool have won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
For their national side, Mane seems to have the upper hand as the Former Southampton winger guided Senegal to second place in the 2019 AFCON after losing out to Algeria in final.
Mahrez was instrumental to Algeria lifting the 2019 AFCON, one to remember was his stunning free kick against Nigeria in the semi final.
