According to reports gathered, Harry Kane left St Mary's on crutches after suffering a suspected hamstring injury during Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year's Day.
Danny Ings scored for Southampton in the first half and went on to be the only goal of the game.
Kane scored only for the goal to be correctly ruled out for offside.
Kane signalled to the bench and was replaced by Erik Lamela.
Manager Jose Mourinho said after the game: "Harry Kane plays every minute, he plays all the time. It might be big, it might be small.
"For sure he will be out."
"It is negative, hamstring is always negative," he said.
"Is it a tear, is it a small thing, is it a contraction? At this moment I cannot say."
Kane has played every minute, across all competitions, since Mourinho's arrival.
It was the second big injury of the game for Mourinho and Spurs, who also saw club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele forced off during the first half.
Mourinho said: "I imagine this is his tenth injury of the season. They stop him to play. It doesn't give him continuity.
"We had three days between matches. Once more, he is out again."
