Aston Villa have received handed a good news ahead of this weekend round of Premier League games.

According to reports, Villa's Ezri Konsa has returned to full fitness.

Villa will face Tottenham on Sunday in a must win match as the Premier League new boys are fighting for survival.

Recall that he was forced off with a thigh injury at half-time in the 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

Dean Smith has revealed Konsa has recovered and ready to face Spurs.

The Villa manager said: “He felt something in his thigh at half-time so we brought him off, but he had three or four days off and then he came back in and he’s been back training ever since.

“So he’s fine and he’s fit.”

Villa will be without Keinan Davis for two to three weeks.

The striker was forced off with a hamstring while playing for the Under-23s last week.

“That was a really disappointing one because he had to go and play for the Under-23s because he’s got to build up his minutes,” added Smith.

“He’s been out since the Wolves game in the cup, which is three months ago, and he’d been impressive coming off the bench so we needed to build up his minutes.

“And unfortunately he felt it in a different place but it’s certainly not as bad as it was and I’m expecting him to be back in the next two to three weeks.

“It’s only a minor hamstring injury but it’s one that was certainly a kick in the teeth for him because he was making an impact when he was coming on.”

Also, midfielder John McGinn is recovering from the fractured ankle he sustained against Southampton in late December.

“He’s out of the boot, he’s been out of it for the last week or two,” said Smith, offering a positive report.

“He’s pushing the medical staff all the time to hasten his recovery. He’s a really, really energetic person as well as a player.

“He’s well liked around the place and he’ll be pushing me to try and get back for that cup final.

“But I think it’ll be a week or two later than that, but it won’t be for the want of trying with John.

“And the added bonus for us is it’s like having a brand new signing coming into the team at a really important time.”
