Mesut Ozil to miss Olympiacos Clash Due to family Issue

Mesut Ozil has not travelled with the Arsenal squad to Greece for their Europa League clash with Olympiacos, as he prepares for the birth of his first child.

Ozil's wife Amine Gulse is understood to be pregnant and the Gunners' No 10 has been given permission to wait behind in anticipation of his baby arriving.

Matteo Guendouzi has travelled, despite being left out entirely of the matchday squad for the 4-0 win over Newcastle.

Lucas Torreira is another midfielder not making the trip due to illness, although he could fly out on Thursday should he recover in time.

Arsenal face Olympiacos at the Karaiskakis Stadium at 8pm on Thursday night. It is the first time that Mikel Arteta will take charge of the side in European competition.

The Gunners reached the final of last season's competition but were beaten 4-1 by Chelsea in Baku.
