Real Madrid have published a medical report about Thibaut Courtois, who picked up a muscle injury in the left adductor during last Sunday’s away match against Betis.
Following tests carried out today on Thibaut Courtois by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his left adductor muscle. His recovery will be monitored.
Courtois will surely miss Friday’s home game against Eibar and is reportedly set to be out of the return leg against Manchester City in the Champions League’s Round of 16, which will be played next week, according to Spanish reports.
Reserve goalkeeper Alphonse Areola will be Courtois’ replacement in the starting lineup and his performances could be crucial for Madrid’s chances of competing for La Liga title this season.
Also Real Madrid confirm left-back Marcelo suffered a hamstring injury, which means Ferland Mendy might start against Man City.
