Nigerian International, Moses Simon has clarified that Daddy which many thought was a nickname is his real name.
He said the name was given to him by his Father (an ex soldier).
"My Father gave me the name, it's actually Daddy-ne (My Daddy in Idoma language) but my siblings shortened it to simply Daddy."
Speaking on the SuperSport Saturday morning magazine football show, Naija Made, Simon said: "My Children cannot call me Daddy because it will be like calling me by my name"
By what name then will his children call him he was asked: "They'll call me Papa"
Simon and his wife, Ibukun have a 2-year old daughter.
The 24-year old Simon has been on fire since Moving to ligue 1 side, Nantes of France on-loan from La Liga side, Levante.
Last season at Levante, Daddy played 19 league games and scored 1 goal but playing more regularly at Nantes which he joined in August 2019, he has notched up 5 goals in 26 games with 6 assists.
A breakdown of his stay at Nantes so far shows that he has played 25 matches (plus 1 as a sub). He has 18 shots on target from a total of 32. He averages 23 passes per match with a pass completion rate of 79%.
The former Trencin of Slovakia and Gent of Belgium forward has 30 caps for Nigeria and scored 5 goals since he made his debut in an international friendly against Uganda in March 2015.
The Obagaji in Benue State born player said he is currently missing the round leather game having to stay at home because of the corona virus pandemic.
