Earlier today, Tottenham confirmed Bergwijn has suffered a sprain and he's expected to be out for quite some time.
It was reported that he suffered the injury during the weekend game against Burnley.
Recall that Jose Mourinho side has already lost Harry Kane and Heung Mi Son.
The statement from Spurs reads:
"Following assessment and examination by our medical team, we can confirm that Steven Bergwijn suffered a significant sprain to his left ankle during our match against Burnley.
The Netherlands international will now undergo an extended period of rehabilitation where his progress will continue to be assessed."
