Abba Kyari and I Have Been Friends for 42 Years - Buhari bids goodbye

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the death of his former Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari who died on Friday, April 17, 2020.

Kyari's death was announced on Saturday by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, 24 days after the deceased tested positive for coronavirus.

The late Chief of Staff was buried in Abuja hours after his death was announced.

Reacting to his death, President Buhari in a statement on Saturday described him as a true patriot and loyal friend, who never sought elective office for himself.

Buhari said he met Kyari when he was in his twenties, adding that they've been friends for 42 years.
