Arsenal looks to snub Ozil new contract extension

Mesut Ozil's future at Arsenal is reportedly looking uncertain with the club yet to offer the playmaker an extension on his contract which expires in 2021.  

The 31-year-old has 20 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates, a deal which sees him earn £350,000-a-week.   

The German was told he could leave last summer after falling out of favour under Unai Emery.

Ozil has been linked with a summer move to Turkish side Fenerbahce, a club he has strong connections with, but representative Erkut Sogut said last month that any talk of a move is extremely premature.  

Sogut told Goal: ‘You never know in football. First of all, you can never predict the movement of players. 

‘I have said it before and I am saying it again that he [Ozil] is really happy where he is at Arsenal. He is still has a contract to go and there is no change. 

‘We will see what the future holds when the contract ends but for now, there is nothing I can say.’
