Arsenal could bring in Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno for around £50million this summer

Arsenal are reportedly considering a £50m swoop for Valencia forward Rodrigo Moreno this summer, should captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave the club.

Rodrigo has a £110m buyout clause at Valencia but could be allowed to leave for less than half of that figure.

The report in The Mirror details that Valencia owner Peter Lim could let the 29-year-old leave the Mestalla, especially given the economic ramifications of the coronavirus crisis for football clubs.

Rodrigo is an option for the Gunners as a replacement for skipper Aubameyang, who continues to be linked with a move away.

Manchester United are interested in Arsenal's top scorer as well, for £50m also, according to The Sun.

Aubameyang's contract at the Emirates runs out at the end of next season and he is looking unlikely at the moment to sign a new deal.

Rodrigo, however, could move to the Premier League where he spent one season at Bolton Wanderers in 2010-11 on loan from Benfica.

He was also linked with a move to Barcelona in January, as well as moves to Everton and West Ham last summer.

The 29-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions last season but has only netted five times in 28 games in all competitions during this campaign.
