Former Prime Minister David Cameron has jokingly apologised to long-term pal Boris Johnson for not leaving a crucial item at Downing Street following the birth of his baby son.
Mr Cameron, 53, and Mr Johnson, 55, have been friends and rivals since they were at Eton College, and then Oxford University.
Both dreamed of becoming Prime Minister - and both suceeded.
Mr Cameron served as Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016, while Mr Johnson succeeded Theresa May in July 2019.
All three Tories set up home at number 11 Downing Street, rather than number 10, as has been tradition.
Following the news Mr Johnson and fiancee Carrie Symonds had welcomed their first child together, Mr Cameron was quick to share his delight, albeit with an apology.
He tweeted: "Heartfelt congratulations @BorisJohnson and @carriesymonds on your wonderful news today.
"Sam and I are thrilled for you both! Sorry we didn't leave the cot - but the climbing frame should still be in the garden!"
Mr Johnson is understood to have been at Ms Symonds' side throughout the birth of their son earlier this morning.
It is the sixth child for the PM and the first for Ms Symonds, 32.
Where Ms Symonds welcomed their "healthy" baby boy has not been revealed, but it's believed their son was not born at St Thomas' Hospital, where the PM recently battled coronavirus in intensive care.
