Watford and England striker Danny Welbeck has donated food and relief items to the people of his hometown, Nkawie, Ghana.
Daniel Nii Tackie Bio Mensah Welbeck, has Ghanaian roots and has showed his, support amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
It was gathered that his aunt, Charlotte Adwoa Tumutuom made the donation on his behalf.
She said,
“Danny has been very concerned about how his people would survive these trying times; though he has never lived here, he has a great affection for the people of Ghana, so he felt it prudent to offer some help in the very small way that he can to support the government’s efforts in these times”.
Speaking via video call, Danny Welbeck also spoke to the community, saying;
“Let’s all join hands to fight and defeat COVID-19 together, by behaving in ways that would help stop the spread”.
