Former Chelsea Didier Drogba suffered huge blow after he lost out in the race of becoming president of the Ivorian Football Federation.
According to Goal, the election was conducted amongst former Cote d’Ivoire players through video conferencing.
Recall that Drogba had revealed his intention to run in September 2020
From the polls conducted, the Chelsea legend scored zero out of the 14 votes casted by the former players.
Also, incumbent vice-president Idriss Diallo recorded zero votes, while league president Sory Diabate garnered 11 ballots, while three withdrew.
It was learnt that the Ivory Coast former Vice captain Didier Zokora, was among the former players who didn't support the former striker of Chelsea and Marseille.
Sewe Sports boss Eugene Diomande had pulled out of the race to support Drogba.
Didier Drogba lifted the 2015 AFCON in a 9-8 thrilling penalty. The striker captain the Ivorians and scored the last penalty that sent goalkeeper Boubacar Barry the wrong way.
