Police Nabs Poly Graduate and his car stealing Geng with 21 cars

The Operatives of the Nigeria Police Special Tactical Squad (STS) has bursted a two-man car stealing gang.


According to Independent, the gang was led by a 34 year old Polytechnics graduate, Bashir Isiaku who is notorious for stealing cars at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) park.


DCP Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuaj in a statement to Independent on Tuesday, said Bashir’s arrest, came after painstaking efforts and investigations by operatives of the STS to hunt down the criminals.


He said: “Bashir and his accomplice, Aminu Yakubu specialized in using a customized master key, crafted out of screwdriver to open and start vehicles.


“Police investigations showed that their choices of cars are ones without special security features such as pedal or steering locks.


“A total of 21 vehicles have so far been recovered from the hoodlums and their criminal receivers.”


Mba further stated that the criminal receivers of the stolen cars have also been arrested.


He gave the names of those arrested in Funtua as, “Rilwanu Garba, Ibrahim Hassan, Kabiru Aliyu, Sikiru Danjuma and Bashir Abba. In Sokoto, they include Dodo Danbello, Mudeen Adelera, Nasiru Bello and Hassan Bawa. In Kucheri, we have Magazine Garba. In Tsafe, we have Yushehu Abdullahi, in Gusau, we have Abdurazaq Adekoya and in Marafa, we have Kabiru Aliyu,” he stated.


Meanwhile, the recovered vehicles he said, comprised of two Opel Vectra, One Toyota Camry, one Honda CRV, two Toyota Carinae, seven Golf-3, one Toyota Corolla, six Honda Civic and one Toyota Avensis.
