Dimitar Berbatov feels some of his Manchester United and Tottenham teammates never got the credit they deserved.

The Bulgarian spent two seasons at Spurs before four years at United.

At Spurs, Ledley King was, for me, a great defender and Jermain Defoe scored a lot of goals,’ Berbatov said on an Instagram Q&A.

‘At United, Antonio Valencia was a beast and Michael Carrick was great. I would put myself in there as well.’

Berbatov moved to United for Spurs for £30.75m in September 2008 after scoring 46 goals in his two seasons at White Hart Lane.

The forward played much of his time with Tottenham in a strike partnership with Robbie Keane. and when asked how highly he rated the Irishman, the Bulgarian could not praise him highly enough.

‘As high as the moon,’ he said. ‘Keano was unbelievable. When we were playing together, we were creating beautiful masterpieces all day long. He was perfect, in the goals we scored. It was a great time.’

In the two seasons Berbatov was at Spurs, Keane managed 45 goals before moving to Liverpool in the summer of 2008 for £19m as Spurs lost their two star strikers within two months of one another.

Keane was back at Spurs in February 2009, though, after an underwhelming spell at Anfield.
