How I overcame depression - Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber is touting the importance of self-care. 




The pop star, 26, talked about overcoming his battle with depression and improving his skincare routine on the latest episode of The Biebers On Watch. 

Justin and his wife Hailey reflected on the importance of wellness as they made pasta together while listening to his music


Hailey, 23, said she began seeing major improvement after Justin began taking the right medication and changed his diet.  

'The biggest thing I saw was when you got on the proper antidepressant which you're no longer on cause you worked with a doctor and you guys felt like it wasn't needed anymore. So when that happened and when you changed your diet,' she said. 

Justin agreed, adding he saw even more progress after cutting sugar out of his diet.   

'I cut sugar pretty much out and then since I've cut sugar out of my... I feel like I'm not depressed,' he said.  


Sugar and gluten were your biggest two,' Hailey said. 

'Depression is a real thing,' Justin later said. 'A lot of people struggle with depression and people look at it like it's a weakness but until you have it, you know it's...' 

Justin said seeking help shouldn't be perceived as a sign of weakness.   

'I feel like having help doesn't mean you're weak, it just means like you know you care about yourself and you care about those around you and you wanna be a healthy individual,' he said.
