Former Tottenham star, Dimitar Berbatov has revealed the only player he wanted to swap shirts.
According to the forward, he was a long time admirer of Cristiano Ronaldo during his playing days.
Berbatov revealed that he was too shy to approach the Portuguese international.
The Bulgaria legend said that he wanted to swap shirts with the caption Manchester United and Real Madrid legend after a Champions League match at the Bernabeu but he was too shy.
Asked to reveal his favourite players, Berbatov told MUTV: ‘The modern one, the one I played against who was number one? It was Cristiano Ronaldo.
‘He was phenomenal, something else. He’s on a different planet.
Berbatov played for top clus during his career which included spells at Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham, Manchester United and Monaco.
‘I never wanted to swap shirts after matches because I was not this type of player. But the one shirt I wanted and I got was his.
Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford before joining Real Madrid in 2009, winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League at Old Trafford.
‘I remember I was at Bayer Leverkusen and we were playing Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. I wanted Ronaldo’s shirt!
Ronaldo has scored 626 career goals and winning the Champions League five times, with two for Manchester and three for Real Madrid.
‘But I was too shy to ask him so I got one of my team-mates to ask for it. I didn’t know what to say to him, but he gave it to me.’
