Jurgen Klopp leads Liverpool players and staff in birthday song to Steven Gerrard

Liverpool players and coaching staff gathered at their Melwood training ground this morning to pay tribute to former captain and legend of the club. 

Steven Gerrard who is now the manager at Rangers football club in Scottish league turn 40 today. 

The coach of the Anfield outfit, Jurgen Klopp lead his side to a birthday song to the former English international. 

Steven "G" likes he's popularly called donned the number 8 jersey for the Reds from 1998-2015. 

He left Liverpool in 2015 and moved to play a season with LA Galaxy for one season. 

Gerrard captained the Reds to Champions League and FA Cup glory during a successful 17-year professional spell on Merseyside.

Liverpool stars such as Jordan Henderson, Mohammed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain clapping were uploaded with the caption 'The lads sang happy birthday for Gerrard at Melwood this morning' before later posting the full video.

Gerrard retired from the game in 2016.
