Kylian Mbappe has called on the French Football Association to give Wissam Ben Yedder the Ligue 1 golden boot.
The PSG forward called for the FA to share the award after equalling his tally of 18 goals in 2019-20.
Ben Yedder scored 18 goals in his debut season at Monaco. The attacking forward completed his €40 million move to Stade Louis II from Sevilla last summer.
Recall that the Ligue de Football Professional announced Paris Saint-Germain the champions of France for a third consecutive year after cancelling all remaining fixtures
Also, Kylian Mbappé was named the top scorer due to his higher goal ratio than Monaco Ben Yedder. And also, his 18 goals all came from open play and not from the penalty spot.
Mbappe has now taken to social media to urge the football association to share of the trophy.
He claims that in the the 2018-19 Premier League, the Golden Boot was shared between Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang as the trio ended the season on same goals.
The English FA decided to hand the award to the trio.
"Thank you all for your messages. I do think that Wissam also deserves a trophy, as it did in the Premier League last season to reward his year," Mbappe wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Lyon forward Moussa Dembele, Lille Victor Osimhen and Paris Saint Germain Neymar all completed the top five top scorers respectively.
