Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Ander Herrera says Paul Pogba can still become the ‘best midfielder in the world’.
The former Manchester United midfielder, has urged the French international to remain at Old Trafford.
He told ESPN FC: ‘I haven’t spoken with him [Pogba] for a long time so I don’t know what he wants to do.
‘We see stories everyday that “he wants to leave” or “United will sell him” or whatever. But I don’t know what he wants to do.
‘If he wants, he can be the best midfielder in the world. In terms of qualities he has everything.
‘I have answered this question many times and I always say the same. I have never seen a midfielder that has all the qualities he has.
Recall that Ander Herrera spent five seasons at Manchester United before joining Paris Saint Germain as a free transfer in 2019 summer.
He continued: ‘He can recover the ball, he can score goals, he can defend and attack, he’s strong and tall.
‘But it’s true that since he came to the club he’s had some ups and downs. When he was good, he was really good and it was a pleasure to play with him.’
He added: ‘I think all the United fans want to see the best from Pogba over the next two years.
‘I am optimistic [that can happen]. I think it can in the next year. I’m optimistic with Paul.
Meanwhile, a move back to Turin looks likely, as Juventus are keen on bringing the player back after he moved two years ago.
‘He has the age to do it and with the help of players like Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, he can be the best midfielder in the world.’
Paul Pogba has been subject of transfer speculation for the second season. He has been linked with move away from Old Trafford.
Real Madrid seems to be interested in midfielder as Zinedine Zidane remains a long time admirer of Pogba.
