Nigerian midfielder, Sani Kaita has apologized to Nigerians after his red card in 2010 World Cup.
The defensive midfielder was sent off for a reckless challenge when Nigeria faced Greece.
But after a decade later the once promising Midfielder has apologized for his actions.
In an interview with brila.net the 34 year-old admitted he put the team in a difficult situation after his sending off.
“When you make a mistake it is only natural to ask for forgiveness and apologize; it’s a normal thing,’ said Kaita.
“Mistakes however are a normal thing and in the national team you just wish it doesn’t happen again, but this is football, it is inevitable.”
Kaita earned 23 caps for Nigeria but never played again for the country after the World Cup in 2010.
