David Beckham has lifted the lid on the chat he had with Zinedine Zidane before the Frenchman retired.
Zidane joined Real Madrid as part of the Galacticous in 2001 and played for five season until he announced his retirement in 2006.
"It was Zidane's last training session," Beckham began as he spoke to Emilio Butragueno for Real Madrid's Escuela Universitaria.
"He sat down beside me and said to me: 'Thank you for everything you've done, for being a teammate of a marvellous team.'
"The four years I spent at Real Madrid were some of the most amazing and important years of my career.
"The relationship I had with the fans, having the chance to see the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu first-hand and playing in one of the biggest stadiums in the world.
"I have great memories of that period."
