Burundi's President Dies Of Cardiac Arrest

Burundi's dictatorial president, Pierre Nkurunziza has died. He reportedly passed away due to a cardiac arrest after a 15 year rule.

The government of Burundi announced the death of president Nkurunziza, aged 55 on Tuesday, June 9th 2020. 


If you recall that Nkurunziza had agreed to step down after a 15-year rule that was characterized by brutal crackdowns and economic stagnation. 

It was reported that his successor won an election last month that was marred by irregularities.
