It's been gathered that THE Bundesliga team have reached a mutual agreement with the 47-year-old Dutchman on the immediate termination of his contract. According to reports the deal with the club was due to run until 30 June 2022.
"Alfred stabilised the team after the upheaval last summer and established it in the upper mid-table. In a season that will go down in the history books as one of the most extraordinary seasons of the Bundesliga, not least due to the Corona crisis," said TSG managing director Dr. Peter Görlich, looking back on the past few months.
The main focus of the coaching team's work was the further development of the team, especially beyond this season. When it came to the planning for the future, which is enormously demanding not least because of the Corona crisis, differences over the direction of the club and the way forward became apparent. "We had different views on important detailed issues, meaning that cooperation beyond the end of the season no longer makes sense," explained TSG director of professional football, Alexander Rosen.
Given this, it was important for the club to demonstrate a clear line and to allow the decision taken to follow the logical steps even now. "We would like to thank Alfred for the work he has done and for the amicable solution that we have now reached," said Frank Briel. "With regard to the current sporting situation, however, we consider it important to act immediately and make the situation clear", added TSG's managing director, who, together with Peter Görlich, is responsible for the sporting side of the club's management.
"From the very beginning, I was aware that the task at Hoffenheim would be a major challenge. The work has filled me with great joy. I would like to thank the club for giving me the chance to work in the Bundesliga," said Alfred Schreuder. "Unfortunately, we could not agree on a common path to lead TSG into the future. I regret this development. However, it is not unusual to have differences of opinion in professional life. You then have to be honest with each other and draw the appropriate conclusions," added the departing coach.
