Javi Gracia suffers serious injury after collision with Ederson against Arsenal

The Premier League returned to our screens last night as Manchester City hosted Arsenal. The Citizens fans watching from home would have been left with a sad face following a injury to their defender.


Pep Guardiola side didn't look like the coronavirus break affected their fitness as the cruise 3-0 pass Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City got the lead heading into the fist half break when David Luiz failed to clear the ball, which bounced awkwardly for Raheem Sterling to riffle into the net. 

Just one minute into the second half, Riyad Mahrez turned Luiz and beat him for pace, and but the Brazilian defend tackled the winger which resulted in a penalty an red card. Kevin De Bruyne stepped up and finish pass Leno. 




Manchester City lost Javi Garcia after a collusion with goalkeeper Ederson who came out of his penalty area to clear the ball in the 80th minute. Garcia was carried off on a stretcher after nearly 10 minutes of treatment by medical staff.


In the 90th minutes, the third goal was scored by substitute Phil Foden who bounced on a chipped ball by Sergio Aguero over Bernd Leno.

Speaking after the win, Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola confirmed that Garcia was conscious but further tests will be carried out.

''We are a little bit concerned about Eric. He's conscious, which is a good sign but he's going to make an extra test in hospital.'' Guardiola Said.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also two key players in the first 20 minutes of the game, Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari were streched off in what looked like an achilles injury.
