Nigerian forward has found his way into Manchester United fans heart with his display whenever being called upon by the manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Jude Ighalo is expected to be with the Red Devils until January 2021 after he extended his loan deal. His manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised the former Super Eagles striker, saying he's a veteran forward.

Solskjaer said that Anthony Martial has been learning from the Nigerian forward.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Odion is a seasoned No.9. He's played that position his whole career whereas Anthony has played more out on the wing.

“Odion is helping on the training pitch, in terms of his movement, hold-up play and just being himself. Anthony's learning off an experienced centre-forward."

If you recall that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Jude Odion Ighalo on season loan in January from Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua.

The forward extended his stay with the Old Trafford outfit back in May till January next year.

Solskjaer believes that the presence of Ighalo has seen Martial step up his game as the club's centre forward.

The Norwagian added: "It's the first season that he's really playing as a No.9; he's had to have that burden of the shirt and be that central focus through the middle.

"Sometimes that's not easy when you play for Manchester United but he knows that we trust him and I think he knows that we want him to keep developing."

Although, Anthony Martial has been preferred to Ighalo during league games while the Nigerian takes charge on cup games.

Over the week, Jude Ighalo scored in Manchester United 2-1 win against Norwich City in the FA Cup quarter final.

The manager continued: "We'll keep challenging him. There are always players in and around the team - and outside the club - who would want to be No.9 for Manchester United. There's always pressure on a centre-forward but so far, he's performed really well.”

Solskjaer furhter said that Martial has too to improve on his game. He added that the French man who joined from Monaco has an important part to play in United's season.

According to Solskjaer: "He's playing with a smile on his face. Anthony has had a really good season, he's been really important for us. We felt it during the couple of months he was out injured; we struggled.

"But he knows that we trust him. He knows that we'll have patience with him and that we'll keep working with him."
