Osimhen will leave in the summer - Lille coach, Christophe Galtier

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been suggested to join a new club in the summer window.




According to reports from France, the forward has been on the radar of some too clubs in Europe following his outstanding debut season in Lille.


Osimhen only joined the French outfit as a replacement for Nicolas Pepe who moved to English Premier League side, Arsenal for a record fee of £72m.

Lille manager, Christophe Galtier has come out to confirm that the Nigerian international will leave Lille and along with his team mate, Gabriel.

In his first season with Lille, he has scored 13 goals in 25 appearances as Lille finished the 2019/20 season in fourth place. 


Speaking at a press conference, the Lille manager said: 'Regarding Victor and Gabriel, yes, I've known for a long time that they're leaving.'

'They're working hard with us in the meantime. We're working on the players who are currently here and those likely to replace them.'

Osimhen also scored a goal in the UEFA Champions League against Chelsea before it was suspended due to coronavirus pandemic.


The manager added: 'Of course, the club is working to replace him [Osimhen].'


Osimhen signed for the Ligue 1 club last year from VfL Wolfsburg. He had previously played on loan at Belgian side Charleroi.

Finishing fourth for Lille meant the Club will not participate in the Champions League next season,as the French government decided to cancel all sporting activities due to the increase death rate caused by Covid-19.
