Arsenal have completed the signing of four players, the club sporting director, Edu has confirmed.

According to Sky Sports, David Luiz has signed a new one-year contract at Arsenal.

If you recall that the Brazilian switched camp from his rival Chelsea to Arsenal for £8m for one season.

Arsenal technical director Edu said: "I am really happy that we will have these players in our squad for the future. They have been part of the long-term technical plan Mikel and I have developed. They bring the right balance to our squad.

"David is a really important player for us. He has played most of our matches this season and has been important for the team. His passing, his communication with the team on and off the pitch. He helps everyone."

Although, Arsenal will be without David Luiz as he's serving his red card suspension which he received against Manchester City last week Wednesday in the 3-0 loss.

Meanwhile, Pablo Mari has formally completed his move from Flamengo to the North London side on long-term deal.

The centre back joined on loan from Brazilian club but fitness issues has seen him miss game time. He started against Manchester City last week, but was stretched off due to injury.

Edu added: "With Pablo we're all disappointed he got injured at Manchester City. Since Mikel arrived here he was asking for a central defender who was left-footed.

"We were really pleased with Pablo - his behaviour, the way he is training, his mentality and his quality. Unfortunately, he has that injury but of course we are really happy to keep him for the future."

Arsenal also confirmed that Portuguese international Cedric Soares will also be making his loan switch from Southampton permanent. The Gunners signed the full back as a cover for Hector Bellerin for £1m loan from the Saints.

He has also been struggling with injuries since he moved to the Emirates.

According to Edu: "Cedric is also going to be an important player. He has been unlucky with the injuries but he is close to being ready and gives us more strength in the right-back position."

And finally, Mikel Arteta have convinced the board to extend the loan deal of Dani Ceballos for another season. The midfielder joined Arsenal on a season long loan from Real Madrid after he fell down the pecking order in Zinedine Zidane team.

Edu on Dani deal said: "We're also pleased Dani will finish the season here. He is making a good contribution and we look forward to him having a strong finish to the season."

Arsenal travel to Saint Mary's stadium on Thursday to face Southampton. The club is currently tenth on the league standings.
