Vertonghen agrees to stay with Tottenham until the end of 2019/20 season

Tottenham have confirmed that experienced defender Jan Vertonghen and goalie Michel Vorm have agreed to extend their deals until the end of the current season.




It was learnt that the duo contracts were due to expire in June 1st, but due to the coronavirus pandemic which caused the league to be extended until July , he will be available for Spurs.

The statement from the club's website reads:


"We can confirm that defender Jan Vertonghen and goalkeeper Michel Vorm have agreed to extend their existing contracts with the Club until the end of the 2019/20 season.

"Both players’ contracts were due to expire at the end of this month and this extension means they will now be available to play for us for the remainder of the current Premier League season."

Also the club added that likes of Danny Rose who is on loan at Newcastle and other players on loan deals have been extended.

The statement added: "We have also agreed to extend the loans of Danny Rose (Newcastle United), Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton), Jack Clarke and Luke Amos (both QPR) Brandon Austin (Viborg) and Armando Shashoua (Atletico Baleares) until the end of their respective league seasons."
