Arsenal suffer transfer blow as Upamecano signs new contract with Leipzig

 Coach Mikel Arteta has placed the defense option of the Gunners as top of priority going into next season.

Arsenal finished the campaign in eight on the league standing and are yet to make an official signing since the windown opened days ago.

Mikel has shuffled his defense between likes of Mustafi, David Luiz, Rob Holding and Callum Chambers.

Although, the Spainsh coach has preferred the three at the back as his option but it's obvious that there's a need for a centre back.


The north London side have been dealt a transfer blow following reports of their target Dayot Upamecano.

It been confirmed that Upamecano has signed a contract extension at RB Leipzig. The defender agreed new deal until 2023.

Upamecano has been joined Leipzig since January 2017 from Red Bull Salzburg.

He has made111 appearances for the  German club as theu finished in third place in the Bundesliga table.

The defender has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a reported fee of €60 million (£54m/$68m) as his release clause.
