Bayern to allow Coutinho wear Leroy Sane jersey number 10 untill the end of season

Bayern Munich have stated that the jersey number 10 will not be stripped from Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian is currently on a season loan from Barcelona, but he's currently injured.

Bayern announced the signing of Leroy Sane from Manchester City today, he is expected to wear the jersey no next season.

It's been gathered that Coutinho is expected to still feature for Bayern in the DFB Pokal final against Bayern Leverkusen and UEFA's Champions League which will begin next month.

The statement from Bayern reads:

"Out of respect for Philippe Coutinho, who is the current number 10 and could play in the upcoming DFB Cup final in Berlin and any games in the UEFA Champions League in August, Sané decided not to use the number in his photos on Thursday.

"Coutinho indicated his full understanding for this in a preliminary conversation with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Hasan Salihamidžić."
