Manchester United have officially confirmed that new signing Benjamin Šeško will wear the No. 30 shirt for the upcoming 2025/26 season. The Slovenian striker joins the club from RB Leipzig as part of manager Rúben Amorim’s summer overhaul, which has already seen four senior additions to the squad.

Šeško’s choice of number continues a personal tradition—he previously wore No. 30 during his time at both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig, a nod to his early professional years and a subtle tribute to Erling Haaland, who once wore the same digits at Salzburg. “I wanted to take Erling’s number,” Šeško explained. “Now I kind of like it and it’s special”.

To accommodate Šeško’s preference, fellow summer recruit Diego Leon, who had initially been handed the No. 30 shirt, will now wear No. 35.
