Although Arsenal failed to make the spot for European football via the league standing for next season but Mikel Arteta has some positives of to take following their last game of the season.

Mikel Arteta took over from the north London side in January and guided the club to finish eight on the league standing of the 2019-20. 

Arsenal recorded a 3-2 win against Watford at Emirates in the final game of he season which saw the Hornet relegated from the top flight of the league.

Apparently, full back Kieran Tierney picked up his form late in the season after an injury battling season. 

The Scott joined Arsenal in 2019 from Celtic but has been battling fitness issues which saw Bukayo Saka, 18, deputise in the position most first half of the campaign. 

Speaking after the end of the campaign, the full back took time to reflect on his season as he discussed the most difficult period in hi career. 


Tierney told Arsenal’s official website: “It’s been the toughest year of my life. I’ve had the injury and a lot of new challenges but you need challenges, you need to be uncomfortable.

“You need to challenge yourself to improve. I worked hard every day and I knew it wasn’t going to be easy coming to this massive club full of great players. I knew it was going to be tough coming in and trying to get my place in the team."

He got a goal in the win against Watford on Sunday, which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brace. 

The 23 years old went ahead to hail the manager, Mikel Arteta for having the confidence in him. 

He said:“I’m just grateful for every opportunity I get to go on the pitch and give my all. I try to repay the manager’s faith by working hard and trying to put in good performances. It’s all about the hard work.”

“I didn’t know what to do so I just turned around. I think it was shock! I’ll take it. It was a good ball from Auba as well so it was a good day for me personally.
