Manchester United travelled to the Amex stadium on Tuesday night to defeat Potter's side 3-0.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started his two play makers Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in the middle for the first time in a league game.
Both created chances and Brighton struggled to neutralised the effect of the duo.
Mason Greenwood scored for Manchester United under 16 minutes before Bruno Fernandes added the second just before half time.
The Portuguese international who was the star man of the game added his second on the night with a strike in the 50th minutes.
The results pushed Manchester United back to fifth on the league standing.
Fernandes who joined Red Devils in January took to his page to express his joy of scoring a brace.
Sharing a snap of his goal celebration, he captioned:
"Going home with +3 points! Happy to score 2 goals, great performance lads 👏🏻 @ManUtd #MUFC"
