Liverpool have confirmed that Jordan Henderson has been ruled out for the remaining season.
Jurgen Klopp speaking during his press conference this afternoon says he's captain will miss the remaining four games due to knee injury.
The news doesn't come food for the Reds fans following their title winning season which has seen Henderson marshal the midfield during games.
Jordan Henderson has had an outstanding season, as he was named the Player of season in the BBC awards back in February.
Klopp told his pre-match press conference: “Hendo is actually really the best possible of all the bad news. It is a knee injury, but no surgery needed. He will not play anymore in the latter stage of this season but I am pretty positive he will start with us the new season. We were all concerned in the moment we saw him in going down and when he left the pitch and stuff like this.
“Yesterday when we got the news, it was a big relief for all of us. It is not cool, obviously, but it is the best we could get. Hendo will be back; he is a quick healer and he will be back soon.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool welcome back defender, Dejan Lovren. Klopp revealed that the Croatian has returned to full training for the Reds.
Lovern has missed the last three matches.
Klopp added: “Dejan is in full training now again and is available.”
Liverpool will host Burnley at Anfield on Saturday at 3pm GMT.
The Reds are set to break Manchester City 100 points record, if they can finish the remaining four games with a win .
