Going into the final rounds of game Jamie Vardy was leading the goal scorers chat with 23 goals, but he was unable to add to his goal tally as United defeated The Foxes 2-0 at the King Power Stadium.
The English international was able to edge likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal, Danny Ings of Southampton who were on target in their various match day centres.
Vardy who had won the Premier League under manager Claudio Ranieri few years ago also emerged the top scorer that same season.
Taking to his page to pose with his golden boot award, he admitted that hard work surely pays at the end.
Recall that Vardy joined Leicester from a non league club, and Fleetwood Town and has grown to develop himself as one of the best centre forwards in the league.
He tweeted: "Never in a million years did I ever think I would win a Premier League winners medal let alone the Golden Boot...just wow!
If this proves anything, it shows you should never ever give up on your dreams, no matter how crazy they may seem!"
