Although, Mikel Arteta has continued to say that the absence of the play maker from the match day squad was tactical.
It's understood that he's currently the highest earner in the Arsenal team with a weekly wages of £350,000-a-week. He currently has 12 months left on his deal with the north London side.
Following the 2-0 win against Manchester City in the semi final of FA Cup, Mikel Arteta revealed that Mesut Özil can drive inspiration from Granit Xhaka who has over turned his difficult spell with fans in the first half of the season.
At the moment, it appears that he wants to see out his contract at Emirates stadium.
Meanwhile, Ozil's wife Amine Gulse, wants him to move to Turkey. The world cup Champion wife is a former Miss Turkey and they welcomed their first child together early this year.
