"When I told him [Luka Modric] my father is too young and 'he is a 35-year-old like you', he didn’t believe me," Real Madrid winger Rodrygo was quoted as saying by Marca.
"He told me then you have to respect me, 'I’m old enough to be your father' and since he calls me son, I call him 'papi'.
"My relation with Modric is great, he is great as a person and a player."
'Papi' is essentially a colloquial term for father in Spanish and it goes to show the close relationship that the two players share.
