Burnley have missed their opportunity to climb above Sheffield United in the league standings, but Dyche's side have still moved up one spot to ninth as a result of their point.
The Turf Moor outfit must now prepare for a trip to face West Ham in midweek as they look to further assert their European credentials.
Meanwhile, Egan's equaliser ensures Sheffield United remain in eighth place while they now look ahead to a tricky clash with Wolves on Wednesday.
