The home side got in the lead when Alan Empereur (Verona) conceeded a penalty after a foul in the penalty area.
Jordan Veretout (Roma) converts the penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner in the tenth minutes.
Roma doubled the lead, Edin Dzeko (Roma) header from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner. He was assisted by Leonardo Spinazzola with a cross.
Two minutes into the second half, Verona pulled a goal back, Matteo Pessina (Verona) left footed shot from very close range to the bottom right corner. He was assisted by Mattia Zaccagni.
