Real Madrid have moved a step closer in clinching the La Liga after a 2-1 win against Granada on Monday night.

Early goals from Mendy and Karim Benzema ensured that the Los Blancos extend the lead to four points on top of the league standings.

Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois was the man of the match , producing stunning performances in the game. It's the first time he will conceed a goal since the league restarted.

Taking to his page, he wrote: "We have fought hard for those 3 points and I am very proud of the team! 💪🏻 We're getting closer to @LaLiga : there's one last effort left! 🔥 #HalaMadrid"

Real Madrid now need a point with two games left to play to be crowned Champions.

The Belgian international has grown into he fans heart following his recent run of games. 

Recall that he was seriously criticized in the first half of the season as Real Madrid struggled for wins. But it seems the coronavirus break has helped the team positively, as they are yet to loose a game since June, when the league restarted.

If you recall in 2018, Real Madrid signed him for £35 million, which made become La Liga's most expensive goalkeeper, a record which was previously set by Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid.

The 28 years old has gone to make 60 league appearances for Real Madrid.
