Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has remain optimistic on his side qualification for top four at the end of the campaign.

Manchester United have been in great form in the league since January before the coronavirus pandemic caused the league to be suspended in March.

Since the resumption in June, the Reds have continued with their form, winning  eight of their last 13 top-flight matches.

During the mid week, Manchester United were held to a score draw against West Ham but Chelsea and Leicester City dropped points as they lost which moved Manchester United to third.

Although, it's just a point between Red Devils and fourth placed Chelsea.

United travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday to face fifth placed Leicester City at 4pm.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side will be looking to avoid defeat in the game against Brendan Rodgers team.

The Norway international believes his team has been third best team in the league since last year October.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Solskjaer: "It would be a good boost and a nice boost for the team to finish third.I know since October, after that international break, we've had the third-most points in the league.

"For a long, long spell now we've been the third-best team, we just, in the start of the season, we were too inconsistent. Now we have got more consistency, more fitness levels, we're more robust."

He also highlighted the importance of making the Champions League spot for next campaign.

According to him: "And of course we want to be in amongst the elite in Europe and play in the Champions League but the old Winston Churchill quote is, 'success isn't final, failure isn't fatal - then what you need is the courage to continue'.

"That's what we're going to do with this team, we continue. We carry on developing the team, improving and knowing that this is not the end of the journey for the team, this is just one other stepping stone in our development."
