The European governing body of football, UEFA, have released the Champions League team of the 2019/20 season on Monday August 24th 2020.

Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the Champions League final in Lisbon, Portugal to lift their sixth Champions League trophy.

Lewandowski who finished as the top goal scorer of this year’s Champions League with 15 goals leads the attack.

 Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland, who scored 10 goals in the competition in second place makes the cut.

While Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain were omitted.

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Bayern).

Defenders: Joshua Kimmich (Bayern), Marquinhos (PSG), Presnel Kimpembe (PSG), Juan Bernat (PSG).

Midfielders: Serge Gnabry (Bayern), Ángel Di María (Paris), Marcel Sabitzer (Leipzig), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City).

Forwards: Erling Braut Haaland (Dortmund), Robert Lewandowski (Bayern)
