The outbreak of the coronavirus has affected all different areas of human life which includes football.
Recall that the leagues in major parts of Europe have been concluded after it resumed two months ago.
Although, leagues such as French League and Dutch league decided to cancel their season.
Apparently, the African Cup of nations qualifiers games were also suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It's been confirmed that Cameroon are set to host the 2021 edition of the tournament.
The Confederation of African football, CAF, have stated today that the qualifiers are set to resume in coming months.
The CAF Emergency Committee has approved the resumption date for qualifiers.
It's been gathered that the qualifiers resume on 9th -17th November 2020 with the Day 3 & 4 match day games.
While the final round of matches will take place on 22-30 March 2021.
Nigeria currently leads Group L to with six points after victory from their two games against Benin and Lesotho.
Recall that the Super Eagles of Nigeria came third in the AFCON 2019 edition in Egypt, which Algeria defeated Senegal in the final.
Meanwhile, qualifiers for the 2022 world cup in Qatar will also go down. It's been gathered that the 40 teams in contention for the five slots for Qatar 2022 will commence the journey between 31 May and 15 June 2021.
The Day 1 & 2 matches will be played from 30th August till 7th September, while the Day 3 & 4 matches will follow Day 5 & 6 matches which will be played 4th -12th October 2021.
The Playoff matches have been scheduled for 8-16 November 2021.
