In 1997, he was part of the first Brazilian team to win the FIFA U-17 World Championship, which was held in Egypt.
He made his senior appearance for Brazil in 1999, with 97 caps and scored 33 goals.
Ronaldinho won the FIFA senior world cup in 2002, Confederation Cup 2005 and Copa America in 1999. He retired in 2013 .
