Chelsea hopes of lifting a silverware this campaign came to an end on Saturday night.
The Blues have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 after their 4-1 loss to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena stadium.
Bayern Munich took the lead after Robertson Lewandowski scored from the penalty spot after Willy Caballero had fouled the forward.
The German Champions doubled the lead as Lewandowski passed the opportunity to double his goal tally to Ivan Perisic who scored.
In the second half, Tolisso came off the bench to grab the third before Polish forward, Lewandowski scored his brace.
Although, just before half time, Chelsea got a goal back from the boots of Tammy Abraham.
Frank Lampard took a youthful side to Germany after likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Pedro, Christian Pulisic and Willian were injured. While Jorginho and Marcus Alonso were suspended due to their yellow card accumulation.
The manager of Chelsea admitted that his side are still "work in progress" haven lost their best player Eden Hazard to Real Madrid for 100m euros in 2019.
"We lost the best player in the league pretty much in Eden Hazard. People would not normally commend coming fourth for Chelsea, we want more but the feeling is we have achieved something with the group we have. Now is the time to think where we can improve."
Frank Lampard has been in the transfer market as he has signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. It's been suggested that Chelsea are interested in signing Bayern Leverkusen youngster, Kai Havertz.
Speaking on improving the squad, he said: "We will look at that. We have worked at it already. You feel we missed where other clubs spent and improved. Recruitment is a huge part of football. Now is the time to see if we can improve and where we can improve.
"I feel like in a football sense I know where we can improve."
The result saw the game ended in a 7-1 aggregate score and Bayern Munich will face Barcelona in the quarter final.
