The Community Shield in the women's league in football went down today at the Wembley stadium.
Chelsea's Women team who were the winners of the Women's Soccer League, WSL, face the FA Cup winners in Manchester City.

The Blues emerged winners at the end of 90 minutes following two stunning goals in the second half.

Just so you know, the Community Shield is usually played between the winner of the league and the winner of FA Cup before the new season kick off.
Millie Bright and Erin Cuthbert’s long range effort handed the West London outfit the victory.

The Community Shield this year happens to be the first-time since 2008 that the domestic season started.

Following a goalless first half, Manchester City wete reduced to ten players after Jill Scott was sent off for a second bookable offence after the hour mark.

Chelsea took control and Bright collected a pass from Ji So-Yun and struck from distance to make it 1-0.

The second goal sealed the victory as substitute Cuthbert scored in stoppage time.

Chelsea have now lifted their eighth silverware since their coach, Emma Hayes’s eight-year reign at the club.
